Our Philosophy
Philosophy
The primary focus at Rocket Kids is to develop children’s natural enthusiasm for learning - fostering confidence and self-esteem and providing a great foundation for future success. We believe this can be achieved through empowering, encouraging, engaging and extending each child. Using the Rocket as a metaphor, we believe that when learning is fuelled by care and wellbeing, and supported by the wings of whanau & kaiako, each child can soar and shoot for the stars.
Whakamana Empowerment
When children are empowered, they have choices and take responsibility for their learning, they have a voice and the ability to make decisions. They are given the tools and resources to enable them to take ownership of their learning.
Whakatenatena Encouragement
When children are encouraged, their learning is supported and positively guided.
Whakawhanake Extension
When children are extended, their learning and development is facilitated and scaffolded. They are given the time and space to test working theories.
Whakawhanaunga Engagement
When children are engaged they have a sense of belonging, their social & emotional wellbeing is nurtured and they are happy to be involved. Respectful, reciprocal relationships are nurtured.
